I won

OMG I was just checking through all of the challenges I entered last week and I found out that I won the Sketch Saturday challenge. I know it's all done through random selection but even so I'm so happy, maybe karma finally caught up with me (I did 2 selfless things last Tuesday and was waiting for something good to happen, maybe this was it). If you would like to see the winning card here's the link to the post.

Anyway and going right back to my craft room now as I have some more challenge cards to make.

Guess The Paper

After enjoying making my last cupcake card that I made on Sunday I decided to make another tonight. Again I used a die cut cupcake from Dovecraft's 'Piece of Cake - Decoupage Pad', I'm not sure why but the cupcake reminded me of a Christmas pudding.

The paper I used is a mystery as I aren't sure who it's made by I vaguely remember buying it in a kit with some other double sided papers and I thought it may be 'Papermania' but I could be wrong as I googled it and didn't come up with anything. The background paper and the scallop are from the same sheet but are on opposite sides of the 12x12 and when I say paper it's more like thin card.

I loved the way that you can just see the bits of writing on the scalloped shaped paper, just by accident you can just see the words 'The first bite of stra..' which is very apt although I am guessing that it's a cherry on top of the cake and not a strawberry but I'm all for happy co-incidences.

That's it for tonight, if anyone knows who made the paper then please put me out of my misery and leave a comment telling me.

Cup Cakes

For my last card today I decided to enter the Fussy And Fancy Friday Challenge, This week there challenge is to use stitches, scallops and sparkle. As I'm always up for a challenge I set about making a card and ended up with the one below which I'm really pleased with.

To start with I decided to go with a die cut cupcake from Dovecraft's 'Piece of Cake - Decoupage Pad', I chose the pink and brown cake as I already had a backing paper in mind. I used a design from K & Co - Chocolate Neapolitan which worked perfectly. I managed to get 2 scalloped circles onto my card, mainly due to the fact that I needed to emphasis the scallop from the background, I used stitching in metallic thread on each segment of one scallop and painted the pink scallop with stickles and added a couple of gems in the center for the sparkle.

The Sweet Stop Challenge

I have just finished my first card of the day, it's a challenge card for The Sweet Stop sketch blog challenge. I used a stamp from 'Belles 'n Whistles' called Tanya Baking which I love and coloured it with Pro Markers.

I still aren't sure if I am 100% happy with the card but I can't put my finger on whats wrong with it. The papers and ribbon are from my stash and I can't remember what makes they are.

2 Challenges in 1 card

It took a while to get some inspiration going today and I have only managed 1 card, I am however entering it into 2 different challenges.

1, Sketch Saturday
2, Alphabet Challenge

Both challenges gave me the final inspiration, Sketch Saturday as the name suggests gave me the layout (A Sketch) for the card and the Alphabet Challenge blog gave me the theme (M is for Men).

For the card I used a stamp from Stamp-IT, a company I haven't seen much of until I happened upon this cool looking scooter at my local craft shop and decided to add it to my collection. I coloured it with Pro Markers and found some scraps of paper with a brown and blue color. I used part of a circle nestability die to cut a circle into the bottom left of the main background, this kind of reminds of the shape of a wheel trim.

Have to go as hubby has dinner waiting.

Inked Inspirations - Birthday Candy

I've spent about an hour this morning looking through blogs and noting down the challenges I'm entering. After that I went and had my hair cut, I wish someone could teach the hubby how to do an Indian head massage..lol.

Now I'm home and am just about to head into my craft room when I thought I had better mention the awesome blog candy that is being given away on the Inked Inspirations blog, you have until July 31st to enter the competition and there are 5 prizes up for grabs.

Going Digital

While I love using Digital images I don't think I could ever go completely digital, especially not when it comes to scrapbooking. It doesn't mean I can't have a little fun so tonight I had a little play around and created the page below. It's a picture of me and my husband at the top of the rockerfeller Center in New York taken 3 years ago.

Just For Fun

My last post of the evening and my last 2 cards of the day are below. I didn't make them for a challenge but just for fun. I'll keep the post short as it is the 3rd one today plus I have a couple of things to do before I head for bed.

The first card is my favourite, I kept the colours really simple mainly using pink. The paper is by K & Co and is from there Hopscotch Girl collection. The stamp is from Hero Arts - Happy Birthday Cupcakes set. I coloured the image with Pro Markers and cut it into a circle using my wizard. I then stitched a border around the circle with some thread, it's the first time I've ever used real stitching on my cards and I do like the added detail.

My second card is a little more manly in it's colours, it took me a while to find paper that I was happy with and searched through all of my paper stacks, strangely enough the paper I found came from a Die Cuts With A View - Travel Stack which has nothing to do with the image I used but overall the colours worked. The stamp used was from DoCrafts - Daisy and Dandelion, I coloured the image with pro markers and also used 4 buttons in the shape of bones in each corner of the card to add another element of detail.

So that's it for tonight, i may have more tomorrow if I have any energy after work.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge Card

This is my second post and my second challenge card, this time it is for the Cute Card Thursday blog, the challenge is called 'Get A Head Start' and is all about Christmas. I dug around in my stash earlier and found the box I keep anything Christmas related in (I find it easy to put it all together as generally you only need it once a year and it's a pain to try and find everything when it's spread all over my shelves), once I found it I started having a look at what I had left over from last year.

I have to admit there was quite a bit but then again i did go a little mad on buying Christmas craft stuff last December and also in the January sales. I thought I would try and do something different and found one of the oldest things i had in the box which was a die cut sheet with 2 Christmas images on it and some sentiments. Both images were big and I didn't really like them and then i got the idea of using part of the best image (which was a robin) so I ran it through my wizard. You can see the completed card below.

All the items I used are all scraps and it feels good to know that i have finally found a use for something that has been laying in a box for a few years, it does feel strange that there was not a stamp in sight for this card, I made up for it later in the day though.

Sketch Saturday Challenge Card

I've been really busy today in my craft room and have managed 4 new cards, I know it doesn't sound a lot but I like to take my time and make sure I am completely happy before I commit to using glue. My first post is for the Sketch Saturday blog, I really enjoyed making this as it has lots of layers.

I used a stamp from 'The Greetings Farm, Miss Anya - Dressy' and coloured with Pro Markers. The paper is from my stash but I couldn't locate a makers name, I am also getting to grips with my Wizard and used my new circle dies to cut out a couple of the flowers from the paper and used gems in the center to add a little bling.

My only concern is that I used the same paper for all 3 layers and all of the other cards I have seen for this challenge have 3 different styles/colours of paper, I'm not confident enough with combining lots of different colours but I did emphasize the layers by inking the edges of each piece.

Hope everyone likes it, better get on with my next post.

Exhausting Day

I wish I had a card to post but I've spent all day spring cleaning the house from top to bottom, I feel really good about it now it's done but I was hoping to find time to make some cards today. I won't have chance tomorrow as I have my family (Dad and 2 sisters) coming to visit and they will be staying until Monday. Maybe Monday night I will have a picture or two to post.

I did just enter a competition for some blog candy over at the All the things I love blog, it was nice and easy as there's nothing to make all you have to do is link to your blog and keep your fingers crossed.

As it's now hit 7pm I'm going to have to wrap this up as i have a chicken roasting in the oven to attend to.

Dragonflies

I was looking though the many packs of pre made embellishments I have laying around in my craft room last night, I seem to have collected loads and loads over the last few years but never seem to use them. I would love to make it my mission to make one card a night and use at least 1 of these embellishments so i set to work last night with the below creation. So that's 1 down only around 699 to go...lol.

I spent the rest of last night looking around some of the blogs that I follow and found the perfect challenge to enter this card into, the challenge is called 'Things With Wings' and is on the Sweet Stamping Challenge Blog. The rules do call for a stamped image somewhere on the card and even though it's not obvious straight away I did add in the white flourish and flowers to the bottom left corner as I thought there was to much blue and purple, I liked the effect and I may have to start using more white ink.

I was hoping to get into my craft room tonight but I still have to do dinner yet, although I may just do a pasta bake as it will mean I'm not chained to the oven. OK so off I go to the kitchen.

Wedding Card

I was messing around with some scraps of paper and card today and an idea for a card hit me. I started out with a piece of blue paper with some flowers and flourishes on it as my background and then I made up 3 pieces of blue card each shorter in length and rounded of the corners with a corner rounder. I mirrored the flourishes on the paper with a stamp in dark blue and decorated the end of random flourishes with some small pearls. To finish the card of I tied ribbon around each section of the cake. Definitely not my usual style and I'm really please with how it looks.

My New Toy

I know I've been lapsed in posting in over a week, things have been hectic here and most of my free time has been used up crafting. So first things first below are 2 cards I made at the weekend.

Both cards feature stamps from BuzzCraft Fairy Doodles and are coloured with Pro Markers.

So onwards with the news, I finally talked my husband into letting me get my birthday present early and I had my Spellbinders Wizard delivered yesterday along with a couple of extra dies. I played on it all last night and I wish I had brought one ages ago, it's really easy and fun. I'm now contemplating selling my Craft Robo and using the cash to buy some more dies.

With the weekend coming up (and yeah I know we aren't even half way through the week yet) I am going to have more time to do more crafting, although my time will be taken up getting some cards done for my FIL's shop, I will post some pics of what I am making, I also need to concentrate on Christmas pretty soon.
